COLOUR PALETTE FOR FLOWERS

It's taken me so long to decide on colours - there's just too many to choose from!!  Click on the image to enlarge.

ORDER OF CEREMONY

As our ceremony will be a Humanist one rather than a civil one, there's a bit more work involved in deciding what content to put in there and what should happen.  We're lucky that Scotland is one of only 6 countries in the world where you can legally get married with a Humanist ceremony (others also have to include a civil service) There are no limits on music or what you say so it can be a lot more individual and meaningful to us which is appealing.  It's always nice to be different!

I need to put info here for my own service....to be updated soon.

MAKE UP NOT TESTED ON ANIMALS

I'm not asking for much - just some nice mineral make up which isn't tested on animals.  Easy you would think, in this day and age but oh no...  I thought I'd found a company through the BUAV website and was about to spend a small fortune on some rather nice colours when I spotted the SABLE brushes!  And this is from a company who displays all the cruelty free logos.  Last time I checked the fur industry isn't exactly animal friendly or is it just me?!

Then I saw the MAC website which proudly states that their products are not tested on animals.  Shame their parent company, Estee Lauder uses ingredients that are tested on bunny rabbits.  Same with an old favourite such as the Body Shop these days too since it's owned by L'Oreal.  A lot of these companies can get away with saying "product not tested on animals" but then the ingredients are so you can't win.

So my search continues.
Here are some links to companies not in the UK so I might have to get my make up from abroad in future which seems silly - there must be nice companies here in the UK but it's just a case of finding them.

http://www.freshminerals.co.uk - in the UK (bonus).

CENTREPIECES

I'm itching to get back to doing pottery and I've had a brainwave for some table centre pieces.  I can made some slab pot vases which each have words on them which will be the names of the tables...such as
the bees knees
C&B in a heart with an arrow
live & love
happy ever after
live long & propsper
rockstars

DIY WEDDING PHOTO BOOTH

I love the idea of a photo booth "SNAP STATION" which is a great way for everyone to have fun and also get some fab photos of guests.  They can be expensive to hire (£300 usually) but then I can across the idea of a DIY one where some clever person has figured out how to use your own laptop/webcam and printer.  Fab!  They decorated their "booth" with an IKEA frame, couple of charis and a shower curtain.  I've got lots of fabric I could use instead.  I've seen booths which have dressing up props which I'm sure I can pick up from charity shops...

This is the website where I found the link originally - http://davidcline.wordpress.com/2009/08/16/diy-wedding-photo-booth/#more-125

LIGHTS WITH A MESSAGE

These are cute.  Little bags of light and you can have custom orders of any letters and symbols.  Carol loves Barry would end up about £25 which includes battery operated tea lights.

MATCH.COM INSPIRED SHORTBREAD!

I just found these great shortbread shapes on www.notonthehightstreet.com which reminds me of the match.com logo which is of course relevant since my H2B and I met through the famous website.
